# Wrath of the Forest

This creature is an amalgamation of plants, vines, dirt and bone. It houses a spirit of the forest, driven to madness by a powerful source of intrusive magic. It grows slowly and, over time, entangles and consumes more and more living matter, growing larger with every passing year.
It constantly shifts and changes its form and can move slowly through the underbrush or bodies of water unnoticed. It may hide between tree roots and swallow careless adventurers in their sleep. However, its utmost priority is removing the source of its pain and return to rest.
During its growing, the wrath of the forest forms a thick hardened core, protected by many layers of plant matter. The creature can only be defeated by damaging this core beyond repair. It does not speak and does not have a rational mind to be influenced.
# Talents
## Enveloping Mass
Whenever the creature touches something for longer than a few seconds (e. g. if a character tries to hold on to it or climb on top), the creature may automatically envelop the thing it touches. Enveloped entities can take a movement action to make an athletics check against difficulty 13 to escape. They cannot move away from the creature as long as they are enveloped.
Projectiles and throwing weapons that hit this creature are damaged beyond repair and cannot be retrieved.
At the beginning of the creature's turn, it chooses one for each enveloped target:
- Vines form an appendage and throw the target away up to 5 fields away, taking 4d6 fall damage.
- The vines constrict around the target, causing it to take 13 damage, which does not allow an active defense.
## Resistance
This creature cannot gain blind, charm, fear and suffocation counters.
If the creature dwells near a water source, whenever it would gain fire counters, it instead gains half that amount.
## Weakness
If the creature does not have access to water and is somewhat dried out, whenever it would gain fire counters, it instead gains double that amount.
